Football players named to All-Region

Twelve Bearcats were named to the 2017 All-Region 1-AAAAA list.
Running back Dameon Pierce and offensive lineman Hudson Barber were named to the 1st team offense.
Barber started the entire season and played multiple positions across the offensive line. He blocked for Pierce, who rushed for 2,123 yards on 227 carries and scored 32 touchdowns.
Tight end Bowen Dodson, wide receiver Aaron Spivie and offensive lineman Jacob McLaughlin were named to the 2nd team offense list. Dodson had four catches for 52 yards and Spivie had 26 catches for 346 yards and two touchdowns.
Honorable mentions included running back Markel Broadnax, and offensive lineman Brad Mitchell.
Defensive linemen Darius Adams and Roman Harrison and defensive back Zyon McGee were named to the 1st team defense. Adams had 71 solo tackles and recorded 11.5 sacks, while Harrison was right behind him with 50 solo tackles and 8.5 sacks, despite missing three games this season. McGee had 45 tackles and snagged four interceptions.
Bainbridge players on the 2nd team defense were Randy Fillingame and Caleb McDowell. Fillingame led the team with 74 tackles and Caleb McDowell recorded 47 tackles and three interceptions.
Kicker Caleb Harris and Spivie were both named to the 2nd team special teams list.
