Mary Jo “Jodie” Chambers, 64, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017.
The graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 4, 2017, at Sylvania Cemetery with Rev. Mike Allen officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Sylvania United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. Online visitors may sign the guest register at

Mary Jo Chambers was born December 19, 1952, in Enterprise, Ala., the daughter of James Hubert Chambers and Sallie Jo Spiegner Chambers. She attended Havana High School and worked as a grader for Murray Farms. Jodie married Jesse Smith, who preceded her in death.
Jodie loved life and the outdoors. She spent time gardening and growing flowers. Often she would sit on her porch with a cup of coffee admiring the wonder of nature. Jodie considered her grandchildren to be the most beautiful blooms in her life’s garden.
Survivors include her children, Jimmy Watson and his wife, Lisa, of Recovery, Ga., Laura Watson of Tifton, Ga. and Larry Watson of Dothan, Ala.; her siblings, Jimmy Chambers, Janice Schrieber, Danny Chambers, Greg Chambers, Earl Chambers, Eddie Chambers, Lisa Ulmer, Sheila Moulton, Phillip Chambers, Linda Chambers and Tony Chambers; her grandchildren, Jessica, Leslie, Brittney, Matthew, Chris, Dean, Joel and Nathan; and her eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, Jodie was preceded in death by her siblings, Donald Chambers, Ronnie Chambers, Gerald Chambers and Gary Chambers.
