Valley Merle Brock Hayes, 89, of Camilla, died Saturday, November 25, 2017,
at Bainbridge Memorial Hospital and Manor.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 28 at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home with interment in Sutton Chapel Cemetery in Decatur County. Rev. Jim Hayes will officiate.
Active pallbearers will be Jason Hayes, Jamey Hayes, Rusty Hayes, Hayes
Green, Lee Thompson, Matt Baty, Brett Wilkinson. Honorary pallbearers
will be Trent Hayes, Brock Hayes, Jacob Arsenault, Joel Hayes.
Born December 31, 1927, in Bainbridge, Ga., Mrs. Hayes was the daughter of
Valley Brock and Mary Cook Brock. She was married to the late James L.
Hayes. Mrs. Hayes was a member of Pine Cliff Baptist Church and had
worked for Wilgree Manufacturing Co., Draffin, and RCM. She had also
worked in the lunchroom at Westwood Schools in Camilla. Mrs. Hayes was
preceded in death by a grandson, Patrick Hayes and a great-granddaughter,
Maggie Cutchin.
Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Green (Harold) of Bainbridge and
Mae Hayes of Camilla; five sons, Jimmy Hayes (Cherry) of Camilla, Bobby
Hayes (Tammy) of Albany, Billy Hayes (Sandra) of Bainbridge, Johnny Hayes
of Camilla, Danny Hayes (Nancy) of Luthersville; one sister, Mary Deese
of Bainbridge; niece, Jean Brock of Bainbridge; 20 grandchildren and 31
great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces
and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m. Monday, November 27, at Parker-Bramlett
Funeral Home in Camilla.
Memorials may be made to Pine Cliff Baptist Church, Sutton Chapel Cemetery
Fund, or the charity of your choice.
