Everette Carl Wilson, Jr., 74, of Florahome, passed away peacefully at his residence Saturday, September 16, 2017 at his residence.
Carl was born March 7, 1943, in Bainbridge, Ga., to Carl, Sr. and Gussie Pauline Brinkley Wilson. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1963 to 1974. During that time he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Viet Nam Service Medal with One Silver Star, Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Unit Commendation and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Korea. He will be remembered as a loving, supportive father, writer of short stories, an avid Gator fan, a Parrot Head, a lover of karaoke, traveling, lighthouses and most of all, spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Elizabeth Wilson and a brother, Michael Renfroe.
Surviving are his children, Sebastian Wilson, Brian Wilson, Sheri Shurtz and Jonathan Wilson; eleven grandchildren and three sisters, Paula Clay, Shirley Hollon and Patricia Cunningham.
A celebration of life will be held immediately following Church services Sunday, November 26, 2017, at Franklin Baptist Church in Bainbridge, Ga. with Pastor Gwan Garrison officiating.
