Horace Edwards, 80, of Springfield, Mass., passed away on Sunday, November 5,
2017, at the Jewish Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family.
Horace was born in Bainbridge, Georgia on October 3, 1937, the son of
the late Ben and Lilly Mae (Revis) Edwards. Horace proudly served our
country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was
a member of the Church in the Acres in Springfield for many years.
Horace worked for the State of Massachusetts as a mental health
registered nurse in Westfield. In addition to his parents, he was also
predeceased by two brothers Curtis Edwards and Charles Edwards. He is
survived by his beloved wife of fifty-eight years, Olive (Fletcher)
Edwards of Springfield; three devoted children, Linda Thomas and her
husband Michael of Winfield, Ill., Robert Edwards and his wife Tina of
Belchertown, Mass., and Michael Edwards and his wife Cindy of Liberty
Township, Ohio.  He also leaves his brother Ben Edwards Jr.; his two
sisters-in-law, Marion Edwards and Ruby Edwards; eight adored
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will meet directly on Saturday, November 11, 2017, from 10 a.m. – 11a.m.,followed by a Funeral Service at the Church in the Acres, 1383
Wilbraham Road, Springfield, MA 01119. Horace will be laid to rest in
Georgia.  On Tuesday, November 14, 2017, there will be a calling hour
from 10-11,a.m., followed by a Funeral Home Service at 11,a.m. in the
Young Memorial Chapel @ Bruton Funeral Home at 635 Bruton Street,
Bainbridge, Georgia, Rev. John Thomas, Officiating. This will
be followed by a Burial and military honors in Westside Cemetery at
Open Pond, Salem Road, Climax, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions may be made to Church in the Acres, 1383 Wilbraham Road,
Springfield, MA 01119.
