Funeral services for Margaret Norton Ouzts, 83, of Cairo, GA., are at 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at Midway Baptist Church, Cairo. Rev. Johnny Burdick will officiate. Services will conclude at the church. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mrs. Ouzts passed away at Camellia Gardens of Life Care in Thomasville, Ga., on Saturday, October 21, 2017.

Mrs. Ouzts was born on July 13, 1934, in Cairo, to the late Lonzo L. Norton and Susan “Susie” Keene Norton. On August 8, 1953, she married James William “J.W.” Ouzts, Jr, who preceded her in death on March 4, 1993. They were married for almost 40 years. She worked for over 30 years at Ithaca Industries. She was a devoted member of Midway Baptist Church. She was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class, a choir member, the WMU, and the Young at Heart Club.

Survivors include: her son, Ronald Ouzts of Cairo; grandchildren, Melissa O. Mirick (Randall) of Cairo; great-grandchildren, Joseph Ortiz, Tyler Mirick, Parker-Madison Mirick; sisters, Carolyn Griffin (Kenneth) of Cairo, Sarah Long (Robert) of Cairo, Faye Ingram (Loyd) of Cairo, Betty Bearden (Bubba) of Cairo; brothers, Laverne Norton (Cathy) of Cairo, Charlie Norton (Teresa) of Cairo; sister-in-law, Faye Norton of Whigham, Ga., Beverly Walden of Cairo; 15 nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family members.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; granddaughter, Rhonda Elizabeth Ortiz; and brothers, Z. E. Norton, Coy Norton.

The family will receive friends at Midway Baptist Church immediately following the funeral service.
