Robert Maston Harrell was born February 13, 1947, in Bainbridge, Ga., the son of Robert Leo Harrell and Doris Virginia Harrell. He lived his entire life in the Vada Community and attended Mt. Pleasant School. Mr. Harrell married Linda Joyce Hobbs on July 13, 1971. Maston was self-employed as a millwright and a member of New Home Freewill Baptist Church No. 2.
Like many men in Southwest Georgia, Maston’s activities revolved around an opportunity to be outdoors, either hunting, fishing or collecting arrowheads. There was a time when he loved the chance to race a car that he had built with friends and family; this could be at an organized race or not. Maston was proud of his work and his customers always received the best possible product upon completion. Of all the activities that he was involved in, nothing compared to how he felt about his family, especially his grandchildren who were the light of his life.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Lynda Hobbs Harrell; his children, Robert Stacy Harrell of Vada, August Michelle Pollock and her husband, Chris, of Panama City, Fla. and Jamie Lynn Fannin of Vada.; his grandchildren, Mason, Parker, Autumn, Ava, Dawson, Cason, and Madilyn; and his brother, Michael Harrell, Sr. and his wife, Kathy. Maston was preceded in death by his parents.
