Lady Cats’ walk off win ends regular season with a bang

Thursday night the Lady Cats took home a victory over Veterans after CT Jones scored in the bottom of the seventh, giving them a walkoff.

Veterans started the game with one run scored on an error, but BHS tied it up quickly scoring a run of their own. However, Veterans scored three runs in the third inning. #24, #10 and #9 all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

The Lady Cats refused to give up and tallied three runs in the fifth inning. Desirae Beachem had an RBI home run in the fifth that lead to the run scoring.

The game was tied at five in the bottom of the seventh, when Jones batted a double on 1-2 count, scoring one run. Lexie Delbrey was credited with the victory over Veterans. She pitched seven innings, allowing five runs on six hits and striking out 15.

No. 2 took the loss for Veterans. She went three and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on six hits, striking out four and walking one. #14 started the game out for Veterans. She lasted three innings, allowing four hits and one run, while striking out three and walking zero.

The Lady Cats totaled ten hits with Beachem and Cy Gant each racking up multiple hits. Beachem went 3-for-4 at the plate, leading the Lady Cats in hits.

Veterans managed six hits throughout the game with #10 and #16 managing multiple hits. #10 lead Veterans with three hits in four at bats.
