Mary Copeland Crager, 61, of Bainbridge, Ga., formerly of Winter Springs, Fla., passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017.

Mary Margaret Copeland Crager was born October 21, 1955, in Eugene, Oregon, the daughter of Richard Dow Copeland and Barbara Carpenter Copeland. Mary was a member of the First Methodist Church in Winter Springs. Mary decided at the age of 40 to continue her education. She earned her degree as a medical transcriptionist and worked for several years in this profession She was a good cook and especially enjoyed cooking for Joe’s shift at the pharmacy. “Miss Mary” enjoyed making different jams and jellies and then gave it as gifts to her friends. Her grandsons were quick to point out that her apple jelly was the best ever. After moving to Bainbridge, Mary discovered the joy found in her garden. When not in the kitchen or the garden she enjoyed her time as Joe’s favorite fishing partner.

Survivors include her husband, Joe Crager; her children, Kevin Crager of Winter Springs, Stuart Crager of San Francisco, Calif., and Sarah Crager of Bainbridge, Ga.; her mother, Barbara Thiery; her siblings, Betsy Grier of Prescott Valley, Arkansas, Tim Copeland and his wife, Sherry, of Paulden, Arizona, and Martha Haisten and her husband, Michael, of Sitka, Alaska; and her grandchildren, Bryson Capps and Kaleb Capps. Mary was preceded in death by her father, Richard Copeland.
