Bearcats, Lady Cats take high places at Tift Invitational 5K

Bainbridge Lady Cat runner Viviana Schuyler came in second place in the girl’s race Saturday at the Tift Invitational, leading a strong team performance among 135 other runners.
Schuyler’s 5K time was 21:06.00, anchoring a fourth place finish for the Lady Cats
The Bearcats came in fifth and were led by Efrain Diaz with a fast time of 18:16.00. He finished sixth in a field of 186.
“We had some great improvements in times this week,” coach Lisa Enfinger said in an email.
The Bearcats had two other runners who ran a sub-20-minute 5K. Stokes Moore finished 12th in a time of 18:43.41 and Haydn Griffin took 26th with a time if 19:21.
Timothy Porter finished with a time of 20:13.00, Aiden Matthews came through at 20:25.00, Andru Matthews finished with a time of 20:42.00, Titus Porter clocked in at 21:44.52, Hunter Matthews recorded a time of 21:55.00, Ashton Matthews clocked a 22:21.00, Jaquan Freeman came in at 22:25.00, Johnathon Farrington clocked a 22:29.00, John Willis Maples came in at 23:38.00, and Angel Guzman recorded a time of 24:03.00.
Behind Schuyler for the Lady Cats was Camry Fillingame, who snuck in right before the 23-minute mark with a time of 22:59. Alaiya Sxhuyler followed with a time of 23:51.48, and Uriyah Davis crossed the finish line not long after with a time of 24:04.
Jennifer Mendoza finished with a 27:31.00 and Aileen Mejia clocked in at 27:33.00. Julie Wells finished with a 30:23.00, Caitlin Shephard finished with a 31:45.00, Chloe Enfinger clocked a 32:51.00, Brooke Worsley finished at 36:37.00 and Makayla Ingram finished with a 36:46.00.
For the Bainbridge Middle School boys, Jared Davis finished seventh overall out of 214 in the 2-mile run with a time of 12:35.00. Landon Watts clocked in half a minute later at 13:06.00.
Hunter Harris finished with a time of 13:32.00, Diego Luevano clocked a 14:00.00, Joshua Fillingame came through a 14:57.00, Thomas Brock finished with a 15:53.00, DeZhereon Donaldson recorded a time of 17:20.00 and Cameron Walker came through at 22:55.00.
Ryland Bland posted a time of 15:22 and Hannah Burlison clocked an 18:45 for BMS in the girls 2-mile run.
Bainbridge will travel to Albany this Saturday to race in the Westover Invitational.
