Poshil Wimberly Hand, 74, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 1, 2017, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery with her grandsons and nephews serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Adams and Buddy Adams.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com.

Poshil Agnes Wimberly was born October 2, 1942, in Whigham, Ga., the daughter of William Henry Wimberly, Sr. and Vernie Ella Norris Wimberly. She married Herman Earl Hand in 1968, and made her home in Bainbridge. She was a member of The Potter’s House.

Poshil was all about family. She adored her husband and children but had a special affection for those grands and great-grands. She enjoyed the outdoors especially when the children were playing in the yard. Poshil’s favorite spot was in her chair on the back porch.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Herman E. Hand; her children, William Johnson and his wife, RayLyn, of Bainbridge, Amanda Meggs and her husband, Tracy, also of Bainbridge, Wanda White and her husband, Mark, of Donalsonville, Angie Hand Bracero of Jacksonville and Debbie Parker and her husband, Doug, of Tallahassee; her siblings, Junior Wimberly and Mary Ann Goodwin both of Bainbridge; her grandchildren, Ashley, Mollie, Matthew, Allison, Sarah, Josh, Jeremy, Justin, Mallory, Madison, David and Fina; her great-grandchildren, Graycie, Kenley, Brynlee, Haisten, Tripp, Scarlett and Benji; and many nieces and nephews. Poshil was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Alvin Wimberly, Jerry Wimberly, Patricia Gadd and Wallace Wimberly.
