Lady Cats face tough loss to Cairo on Senior Night

Thursday night was a special night for the Bainbridge Lady Cat seniors. CT Jones, Cyan Gant and Moesha Jones were honored before the game for all their contributions to the team.
With the emotions on the team running high from senior night, Bainbridge struggled to put on their game faces and lost to Cairo 10-3.
The Lady Cats got their start in the second inning when #3 walked Gant with the bases loaded to drive in a run. Cairo pulled away for good with five runs in the third inning. In the third, #5 singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run, #1 doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs, #20 grounded out, scoring one run and #2 grounded out, scoring one run.
Cairo then scored one run in the top of the fourth, which Bainbridge followed up with a run of their own. Cairo scored when #5 singled off the first pitch, and the Lady Cats answered with Thyra Jackson doubling on a 3-1 count.
#3 pitched Cairo to victory, allowing nine hits and three runs over seven innings; she struck out six.
Abbey Gardner took the loss for the Lady Cats. She pitched four innings, allowing nine hits and nine runs.
She truck out two and walked one. However, the Lady Cats still managed to rack up nine hits. CT Jones and Desirae Beachem each collected multiple hits, with Jones going 3-for-3 at the plate leading in hits.
Cairo racked up on 10 hits, with #17, #5 and #3 each collecting multiple hits for Cairo.
Although the team lost, it was still a significant night to the seniors, who let the rest of their team know how much they will miss playing with the team and how they wish them the best from here on out.
