The Seventh grade Bainbridge Bearcats improved their record to 4-2 after a nail biter against the Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets.

The Bearcats won 22-14 in overtime.

TCC put points on the board first when its running back took the ball 56 yards for a touchdown. Their 2-point conversion failed, however, putting Bainbridge in perfect position to take the lead.

That’s just what they did.

Quarterback Amari Borden through three yards to tight end Dax Willis for a touchdown just half a minute before halftime. Borden took the ball in for the 2-point conversion, and the Bearcats led 8-6.

Bainbridge added more to the board in the fourth quarter when Treyvon Campbell caught a 44-yard pass from Donta Broadnax, but the 2-point conversion failed. The Yellow Jackets quickly responded with a score and a failed 2-point conversion, tying the game at 14-14 as regulation time expired.

Bainbridge scored in overtime on an 8-yard run from Broadnax, who also punched it in for the 2-point conversion. The Bearcat defense kept the Yellow Jackets out of the end zone in OT.
