Hospital Authority Chairperson, Glennie Bench, was thrilled to accept a check in commitment of a donation of $25,000 to Memorial Hospital and Manor from First National Bank of Decatur County. Bank President, Brad Barber made the presentation on Tuesday, September 19, just prior to the board meeting.

This generous donation from the bank makes it possible for the bank to take advantage of the new Georgia State Tax Credit program, Georgia HEART. The Georgia HEART program is helping rural hospital organizations by encouraging those who donate to receive a 90% state income tax credit on their 2017 tax return.

Bench explained that this donation will make it possible for the hospital to purchase  a new up-to-date cataract surgical machine for use by Dr. Aric Aldridge and Bainbridge Opthalmology.
