Mrs. Frances Ward Bird, 73, formerly of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017.
The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 24, 2017, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Heath Kahlbau officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery.

Frances Pearl Ward Bird was born July 13, 1944, in Georgia, the daughter of Robert Lee and Frances Pearl Ward.  Mrs. Bird graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1962.  She graduated from Georgia Southern College in 1966, with a Bachelor of Education Degree and obtained her Master of Education Degree from Georgia College and State University.  Mrs. Bird retired after 27 years of teaching mathematics throughout both the United States and Europe.  She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, traveling, spending time at the beach and making memories with her grandbabies.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Graham Bird, of Ellijay, Ga.; two daughters, Ashley Osborne and her husband, Aaron, of Atlanta and Allison Liggin and her husband, Len, of Americus; three grandsons, Graham Liggin, Logan Osborne, and Mason Osborne; a sister, Linda Maynard of Greensboro, NC; a sister-in-law, Marion Bird Martin Register; four nieces; one nephew and many cousins.
