So happy to see my Indians doing well

How bout those Indians?

I have had a life-long love for the Cleveland Indians, through many losing seasons and a few good ones. In 1989, the Cleveland Indians team was the subject of a sports comedy film “Major League.”  It depicted an owner who wanted to move the team to Florida, so she schemed to create a weak team that would be a loser so Clevelanders would be glad to see them go.

Naturally, the plan backfired when team members became aware of the plot. They were motivated and rallied to beat the Yankees to win the championship.

As all baseball fans know, last year was a special season when the Indians almost won the World Series pennant.

Well, this season the Indians have rallied and been motivated to take it all the way.

They have been knocking them out of the ballpark. This week they not only tied the American League record of 21 straight wins, they went on to win again Thursday night, beating the Kansas City Royals 3-2, making it 22 wins in a row.

I don’t get to see them on TV in South Georgia as often as I would like; but with this winning streak they should become more visible.

This year, with hitters like Lindor and Jose Ramirez and pitchers like Bauer and Kluber, the Indians have a good chance of going all the way.
