‘Knock on Wood’ show knocks it out of the park

A new approach has been taken by the Firehouse Arts Center with the “Knock on Wood” exhibit that opened Thursday evening.

It features local woodworking artists Trenton Beard, Steve Cross, Henry Intili, Rebecca Kasilus and Neva Odom. Although each works with wood, the approach of each artist is different from the others. The one constant is how an individual can view a piece of wood and see something completely different.

The creative eye and mind of the artist and the ability to represent it so others can also see it is indeed a talent to be celebrated.

The exhibit continues on Fridays from 3 to 6 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays 1 to 4 p.m.
