While BPS got many calls about damages from Hurricane Irma over the weekend, Officers Tarow Barney and Sgt. Timothy McCain responded to a different kind of call about damage to property on Saturday.
Officers arrived on scene at the Bill Reynolds Complex utility building and were informed by Sterling Widner that he had video of a male tearing down the surveillance cameras.
The Officers watched the video and were able to see three male subjects hanging out around the main restroom building, reports said. Later in the video, one of the male subjects began to tear down eight Lorex HD cameras that were hanging in the outside corners of the utility building. After tearing down the cameras, the subject then left the area.
The subject was later identified as Wilson Augustus Goodman, 20. Goodman was then contacted over the phone and told to turn himself in at Bainbridge Public Safety Headquarters.
Goodman arrived at Public Safety and was arrested and charged with criminal damage to property in the 2nd degree and interfering with government property.
