Bainbridge X-C shows speed at Lee County Invitational

The Bainbridge Bearcats and Lady Cats cross-country teams had an outstanding showing at the Lee County Invitational last Saturday against some of the best schools in South Georgia.
The Bearcats came in sixth out of 16 teams and the Lady Cats took fourth place out of 13 teams.
Efrain Diaz and Haydn Griffin were the first two to pass the finish line for the Bearcats, crossing it neck-and-neck to take 18th and 19th place. Diaz’s time was 18:57.01 and Griffin’s time was 18:57.43.
Stokes Moore was quick on his feet as well, clocking in at 19:10.22. Aiden Matthews finished with a time of 20:24.73 and Andru Matthews came in at 20:47.65. Timothy Porter was under a second behind him with a time of 20:47.96.
Just under two minutes later, Johnathon Farrington came through for a time of 22:44.75 to round off the Bearcats efforts.
The Lady Cats were laced up and ready to hit the trail, and it showed in the fast times of Vivana Schuyler and Uriyah Davis. Schulyer, a freshman, took seventh place overall and was the first Lady Cat to finish the race at 21:30.14. Davis was two minutes behind her with a time of 23:29.77.
Camry Fillingame clocked in at 24:16.01 and Alaiya Schuyler finished with a time of 24:36.17. Jennifer Mendoza came through at 26:35.48, Aileen Mejia finished at 27:26.24 and Nikita Harrell clocked in at 28:09.86.
The Bainbridge cross-country teams will continue their season Saturday at Warner Robins High School.
