Linda Faye Alderman was born February 12, 1942, in Pavo, Ga., the daughter of John Clyde Alderman and Louise Johnson Alderman. She married Leonard Bennett in 1959 and made her home in Bainbridge. Linda was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

“Miss Linda”, as she was known to scores of children, retired as a kindergarten teacher with Wester’s Kiddie Kollege. She loved BIG and treated the school children as if they belonged to her. There was never a doubt how important her family and church family were to her. “Miss Linda” had a servant’s heart and always put others first. She enjoyed shopping and fishing but not more than “riding and looking”. (And she couldn’t ride and look without ice cream or a banana popsicle.) The “Facebook Queen” kept up with everyone through social media, always wanting to be sure they felt loved and encouraged.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Leonard Bennett; her children, Lisa Bennett Enfinger and her husband, Peanut, and Chad Bennett and his wife, Jan, all of Bainbridge; her mother, Louise Alderman Dell; her siblings, Ann Gandy and her husband, Bill, of Barney and Jackie Alderman and his wife, Jean, of Bainbridge; her grandchildren, Bennett, Chloe, Kristen, Evan, Ryan, Lance, Jarred and Chase; and her great-grandchildren, Waylon, Kellan, Gunner and Maeson. “Miss Linda” was preceded in death by her father; her sister, Brenda Burgess; and her children, Terry Bennett, Chris Bennett and Keith Bennett.
