Bainbridge Public Safety officers arrested two Climax Residents in connection to financial transaction card fraud with the help of the public this week.

On August 20th, two individuals were reported for stealing and using a bank debit card at various retail establishments in Climax and Bainbridge.  Even though videos from Walmart were blurry, they showed enough information for the public to be able to identify the suspects and their vehicle, and report them to Public Safety.   Following up on the submitted information, CID Investigator Chris Avery showed the suspects images to employees at all of the retailers where the debit card had been used.

Employees were able to confirm Bobby James Baggett, 26, and Tracy Michelle Dutton, 42, as those who had been in the store and used the card.   Both Baggett and Dutton confessed to the crimes.  Avery stated, “Bainbridge Public Safety wants to thank the community for helping identify these criminals, and putting an end to their spending spree using someone else’s hard-earned money.”
