The first touchdown came with 11:30 left in the third quarter. Quarterback Mark Loeffler found Adrian Cooper for an 20-yard score. The extra point was missed and Bainbridge was down 28-6 at that point.

Running back Dameon Pierce scored the other Bainbridge touchdown. The Bearcats took advantage of a pooch kick from Caleb Harris that fell in no man’s land, then marched 26 yards for a score.

Pierce rushed for 183 yards on 26 carries.

Lee County’s first two scores were off Bainbridge turnovers. The Trojans took advantage of a Bearcat fumble on the 9-yard line and punched it in for a score with 5:34 left in the second quarter. Four minutes later, they intercepted a pass and returned it 15 yards for a score.

With seven seconds left in the first half, The Trojans made the score 21-0 after a 12-yard pass play. The touchdown was the result of an interception.

The Trojans added two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

Bainbridge’s defense was solid throughout the entire game. They kept Lee County from scoring on offense until the third quarter. The Trojans attempted a 26-yard field goal to put the first score on the board in the first quarter, but missed. They capped off the game with a 24-yarder with just over a minute left in the game.

Loeffler was 4-of-17 for 43 yards and a touchdown. He threw three interceptions, one a pick-6.

Bainbridge defensive end Devin Morris said the Bearcats would have to play better than they did Friday night.

“It’ll take hard practice,” Morris said.

The Bearcats kick off at home against Lincoln next Friday at 7:30 p.m.
