Mrs. Elizabeth (Beth) Jordan King

Mrs. Elizabeth (Beth) Jordan King, age 82, passed away Monday, August 21, 2017, in Tallahassee, Florida. Services for Mrs. King will be held Thursday, August 24, 11 a.m., at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home. Mrs. Caron Majors will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A private interment will be held in Oak City Cemetery.

Elizabeth Jordan was born June 1, 1935, in Huntsville, Alabama, to William Mellette Jordan and Hazel Marie Praiss Jordan. She married the love of her life, Herman H. (Sonny) King. Mr. King passed away in 1991. For over 30 years Mrs. King ran her own company, Diversified Windows and Doors. Beth loved gardening. She surrounded herself with beautiful plants. To those she befriended, she was a true friend. She was generous and loving. As a mom and sister, she was gentle, wise, fair, fun, happy, and supportive. She deeply loved her family and friends. Beth King will be sorely missed by the many friends and the family she leaves behind.

Elizabeth King is survived by her children, Beth Anne Brock of Bainbridge, Georgia and Jon King of Jupiter, Florida; her brothers and sisters, William M. Jordan and wife, Meredith of Bainbridge, Margaret J. Larmoyeux of West Palm Beach, Florida, Hazel M. Laxson and husband, Victor of Orlando, Florida, Frank J. Jordon and wife, Judy of Bainbridge, Jessie J. Barron of Bainbridge, and Debi J. Griffin and husband, Charles Wayne of Bainbridge; grandchildren, Ashley Brock Brown and husband, Charles David of Falls Church, Virginia, Claire E. King, Parker J. King, and Mimi M. King, all of Jupiter; great-grandchild, Peter James Brown of Falls Church; devoted friend and “generic” son, David Butler; and her faithful, furry companion, Jackie. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
