Seventh grade Bearcats football falls in tough game against Colquitt County

The Bainbridge Middle School seventh grade Bearcats got off to a strong start against the Colquitt County Packers, but quickly lost the lead and fell 39-6 at Centennial Field.
On the Packers’ kick off, a failed onside kick was recovered by BMS lineman Will Goodsen. On the first play from scrimmage, running back Dontavious Broadnax took the handoff, shook off several tackles and raced 49 yards to the end zone. Broadnax’s 2-point conversion failed, but Bainbridge was up 6-0.
Colquitt County responded with a 24-yard touchdown run on the next possession and a 2-point conversion to claim the lead 8-6. They held the lead for the rest of the game.
In the second quarter, the Packers scored twice, both off long touchdown runs. By halftime, Bainbridge was down 20-6.
The Packers scored twice more in the third quarter and again in the fourth.
