Lula Mae McNair Fulgeon, 86, of Climax, passed August 7, 2017.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 12, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary AME Church, 205 McNair Moore Road with Rev. Ronald Williams Officiating. Burial will follow at Conyers Cemetery, Climax, Ga.

Visitation Friday, August 11 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Chandler’s Funeral Home’s Chapel.

Mrs. Fulgeon retired from the Decatur County School System. She served in the church until her health failed, as a Sunday School Teacher, Church Secretary, in the Senior Choir and on the Steward Board.

She attended Mt. Moriah School where she graduated with honors and later attended Lively Vocational Center in Tallahassee, Florida.

Mrs. Fulgeon was joined in matrimony to the late Willie Fulgeon, Sr. They spent 60 wonderful years together.

She leaves to cherish her memory; her loving children, Betsy Ann Alday (Douglas) of Climax, Patricia Henderson of Ft. Pierce, Fla., Gwendolyn Fulgeon of Albany, Ga., Teresa F. Lavind (Judson) of Valdosta, Ga., Willie Fulgeon, Jr. (Stephanie, Chesapeake, Va.; one brother: George McNair of Tampa, Fla.; one sister-in-law: Emma Washington of Albany; one brother-in-law: Leon Johnson of Tampa; one step daughter: Betty Gurley (Buddy) of Havana, Fla.; grandchildren: Stan Williams of Florida, Quentin Henderson of Ft. Pierce, Fla., LaCrystal Fulgeon of Statesboro, Ga., Ashlee Fulgeon, Dominique Fulgeon, Monique Fulgeon and Amber Fulgeon, all of Chesapeake, Va. and Lashon Miller (Ashley) of Ft. Bragg, NC, great-grandson: Tony Maynor of Florida and great-granddaughter: Bailey Arrington of Chesapeake, Va; and a host of extended special family members and friends from the Anderson, Corker, Fulgeon, McNair and Neal families and the staff of Bainbridge Memorial Manor.

She was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Beatrice Anderson McNair, her husband: Willie Fulgeon, Sr., her sister: Betty Johnson and granddaughter: Teresa Elaine Johnson and one great-grandson: Timothy Johnson.
