Bainbridge-Decatur County Humane Society to celebrate “Clear the Shelter” day

Published 5:38 pm Friday, August 11, 2017

Saturday, Aug. 19, could be just the happiest, best day ever for dogs and cats currently living in the Bainbridge-Decatur County Humane Society Shelter. It could be the day they get to go live with a family and be loved as a family member.

It is because that is the day the local shelter observes “Clear the Shelter,” a national, yearly event that is being observed here for the very first time.

The event is an effort to reduce the bulging pet population, by having minimum to no adoption fees on shelter dogs and cats for approved adopters.

Take the time to visit the shelter website: www.bainbridgehumanesociety.com and click on adoptable dogs/and or cats, to get a preview of who may become your new best furry friend. Then get to the shelter and get acquainted to see if you are qualified and the two of you are a fit. The event will begin at 11 a.m. and continue through the day until 4 p.m. at 1250 Cox Avenue.
