Marvin Lamar Culverson, 74, of Havana, Fla., passed away in the early morning hours on Saturday, July 29, 2017, after a long, but valiant struggle with pancreatic cancer.

A son of the late Daniel Lamar and Marie Dixon Culverson, he was born on March 3, 1943, in Bainbridge, Georgia. He is also preceded in death by a grandson, Keith Toliver; great-granddaughter, Emery Toliver; and siblings, Morris L. Culverson, D.L. Culverson Jr., Roland Culverson and Bonnie Lee Campbell.

He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era and was a role model to all that knew him. He loved his family very much.

Survivors include his wife, Jo-Nell Culverson; children, Mark (Nicole) Culverson, Scott (Tonya) Culverson, Teresa (Jesse) Toliver; grandchildren, Cody Culverson, Vincent Culverson, Luke Culverson, Darci Culverson, Wyatt Culverson, Ashley Vardakas and Dustin (Heather) Toliver; great-grandchildren, Harper Toliver, Ava Mixon and Brooke Mixon. He is also survived by siblings, Joan Dean and Roger (Jeannie) Culverson; sister-in-law Joan Culverson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The visitation is from 6 until 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at Abbey Funeral Home. The funeral is 11 a.m., Thursday, August 3, 2017, at Lakeview Baptist Church, with interment following at Woodland Cemetery in Havana.
