Firehouse to offer glass blowing workshop

A glass blowing workshop will be held at the Firehouse Arts Center on Monday, July 24 and Tuesday, July 25. Classes will be taught by artist Kelly Robertson, who began his career in glass blowing at Georgia Southwestern in Americus in 1999.

Since then he has toured around with his mobile studio, teaching people all across the Southeast. Teaching and promoting glass arts has been his major focus over the past 15 years.

The sessions will center on making summer flowers in a hot glass sculpture class designed for beginners.

The sessions are filling up quickly, so people interested in learning this art form are encouraged to act now. To find out if the session is full, you may email artdirector@BainbridgeArt.com. You can register online by filling out the online registration form.

Each session is limited to ten people and you have the choice of making up to three pieces total. Times of the Workshop sessions are: Session 1, 10 to 11:30 a.m. Session 2 is 12 to 1:30 p.m. Afternoon sessions are: 2:30 -4:00 p.m. and 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Class size is limited to 10 people per session.

Cost is $50 per person for one flower, with each additional piece at $30.
