Robert Buren Chambless

Robert Buren Chambless, 60, formerly of Colquitt, Ga., died May 19, 2017, in the Phillipines.  A military memorial service will be held Saturday, July 22, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Eldorendo Baptist Church with Rev. Ritchie Vaughn officiating.  Visitation will be Saturday, July 22, 2017, from 10-11 a.m. at Eldorendo Baptist Church.

Mr. Chambless was of the Baptist faith.  He was a 1975 graduate of Miller County High School and a retired Air Force S/SGT, a turbo prop propulsion technician on C130 Hercules planes with the 1st Special Operations Squadron.  During his service he received the Air Force Commendation Medal.

He is survived by his wife Susan Chambless; two sons, Randy Moore Chambless and Steven Franklin Chambless; one grandson, Sean Robert Chambless all of the Philipines; two brothers, Larry Chambless of Moultrie, Ga., and Chris (Kim) Chambless of Colquitt; one sister, Vanessa (Chris) Moore of Colquitt; four nephews, Eric (Sherry) Tucker of Leesburg, Ga., Shawn (Angela) Chambless of Texas, Justin Moore of Colquitt, and Jay (Vanessa) Tindell of Thomasville, Ga.; one niece, Shea (Levi) Phillips of Colquitt; one great nephew, Pate Tucker of Leesburg, and two great nieces, Maggie Tucker of Leesburg, and Amrie Tindell of Thomasville. Mr. Chambless was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Franklin and Betty Ann Story Chambless.
