Pamela Kay Brock was born July 25, 1949, in Houston, Texas, the daughter of Adolph Brock, Jr. and Frances Register Brock. She lived most of her life in Decatur County and was a member of First United Methodist Church where she served for years in the church nursery. Pam was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1967. She attended Georgia Southern University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Troy University. She retired from Decatur County Schools.

Pam was quite a character. She could take a stale room and fill it with the most wonderful smells and the sounds of laughter. Pam was intuitive and she enjoyed making people happy. Her creative juices would flow with every new treasure she found on a bargain or when she was making soap. She loved to read, especially cook books. Her favorites were “club cookbooks” like the ones produced by the Bainbridge Junior Woman’s Club over the years. Pam also enjoyed nature and would spend hours bird watching and caring for her hummingbirds. Pam was an authentic person who gave the most thoughtful and unique gifts. She was the stable force of her family and tried to share her wisdom with Bill and the kids every chance she got. Pam cared deeply for many children during her tenure in the classroom, but nothing compared to the joy Allison brought to her heart.

Survivors include her husband of 41 years, William F. “Bill” Searcy, Sr.; her children, Roger Brock Searcy of Nashville, Tenn. and Sara Frances Searcy of Thomasville, Ga.; her siblings, Kim Bowles and her husband, Charlie, and Steve Brock, all of Bainbridge; and her granddaughter, Allison Kaylee Scott. Pam was preceded in death by her parents.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com.
