Friday, June 30, at approximately 2:50 p.m. an anonymous tip was submitted to the Bainbridge Public Safety website regarding drug activity at the Tropics Apartments located on Hubert Dollar Drive.

The tip suggested that Michael Ashley Watson was selling marijuana and cocaine inside his apartment. CID Investigators, Chris Avery, Mark Esquivel and Larry Funderburke followed the lead on this tip and approached Watson’s residence.

Watson answered the door, during which investigators smelled the strong odor of marijuana coming from inside. Watson was cooperative while investigators conducted a search. During the search, investigators located a black book bag containing a large amount of marijuana and a digital scale.

Watson was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell/distribute.

Officers want to continue to encourage the public to use the Anonymous tip link on the City of Bainbridge Website to report criminal activity.
