Summer time is here and the children at Friendship House are headed to the beach. Over the past 12 years hundreds of local youth have been afforded the opportunity to see Santa Rosa Beach in Florida, many of them seeing a beach for the first time.

The goal is to provide young people with an escape from their every day living situations and environments. Friendship House tries to create an atmosphere where adult and child relationships can be bonded and strengthened. Giving young people opportunities to see what life is like beyond the inner city streets of Bainbridge absolutely brings a new outlook on life.

Much of the time at the beach is spent having fun in the sun and the water. However there is also time of personal and spiritual growth. Evening time is spent having Bible devotions, one on one mentoring and praise and worship. Disciplining children and teenagers into an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ is the ultimate mission of Friendship House.

It believes that if we can create life changing experiences and relationships that we will get life changing results in our community.

These special beach trips would not be possible without support from the local community. Each of the eight separate trips taken between the months of June and July costs approximately $500.
