Pete the Cat entertains kids at library event

Pete the Cat, the main character in a popular children’s book series of the same name, waves at the Gilbert H. Gragg Library Tuesday morning after visitng with kids

Pete the Cat treated kids of all ages to a story on Tuesday morning at the Gilbert H. Gragg Library.

Pete the Cat is a series of American children’s picture books that have been featured on the New York Times Best Seller list for picture books. Tuesday, Pete read his second story Rocking in My School Shoes.

Steven O’ Neil, a kid there for the story time presentation, said his favorite part about Pete the Cat is his blue shoes. Mackenna Lane also liked Pete’s shoes, but she said her favorite pair is the red ones. Lane loves his colorful buttons on his outfit and said she used to read all his books in kindergarten. Other kids noticed features like his size. Madelyn Williams said, “his head is so big because he has a big brain,” while Whitney Marie Owens commented on Pete’s sweet personality.

All the kids screamed in excitement for Pete the Cat and can’t wait for him to return again to the library.
