Registration for the summer 2017 Bearcat Soccer Camp is underway for children 6-14.

“We are going to work on fundamentals, ball control, dribbling, hitting, passing and defense,” said girls varsity coach Chip Arial. “It’s the fundamentals of soccer.”

The camp will take place on Monday, June 13 and run through Wednesday, June 15. It will be at Centennial Field from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Coach Ariail will be joined by middle school soccer coach Jamie Ard.

“It’s a good way to get out and get exercise and to learn the game of soccer,” said Ariail. “There are a lot that think it’s kickball, which it’s not. If they would like getting extra touches, that’s fine.

Campers will receive a t-shirt for their participation.

Mail the registration form and payments to 1704 Liz. Felty Lane, Bainbridge, Georgia 39817.

“It’s primarily for the youth, but those who are beginning to play the sport are welcome,” said Ariail. “This isn’t just for Decatur County students, it’s for any students.

If you are unable to attend the Bearcat camp, Vinny Gill with Middle Georgia College’s soccer team has you covered. He will host a camp for middle and high schoolers from Wednesday July 12 to Friday July 14 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The cost of Gill’s camp is $50 per camper and applications should be mailed to 1604 Belcher Lane, Bainbridge GA 39817.
