Laurette Hatton Bland, 73, of Green Cove Springs, Fla., formerly of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Friday, June 2, 2017.

The graveside funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Mt. Gilead Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Mr. Mickey Alley officiating.

Lula Laurette Hatton was born August 23, 1943, in Donalsonville, Ga., the daughter of Maggie Hatton and J.L. Barber. She was a homemaker and member of Mt. Gilead Free Will Baptist Church. Laurette moved to Florida in 2012. She attended Russell Baptist Church in Green Cove Springs.

Laurette loved the Lord and shared that love by taking care of other residents of the nursing home. If she ever had a minute, you may find her coloring in an adult coloring book. Laurette enjoyed being pampered at the beauty shop and the nail salon. She would spritz a little perfume to finish out her beauty treatment.

Survivors include her children, Brenda Alley of Donalsonville, Helon Castanon and her husband, Santos, of Mayo, Fla., and Susan Garcia and her husband, Luis, of Old Town, Fla.; her brother, James Barber and his wife, Charlene, of Birmingham, Ala.; her step-children, Gail Thomas and her husband, Robert, of Climax, Brenda Anvar also of Climax, Rick Bland and his wife, Pam, of Whigham, Lora Lashley and her husband, Harry, of Bainbridge and Tammie Moore and her husband, Henry, also of Bainbridge; her thirty-two grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Laurette was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dennis Olen Bland.
