Hey everyone. My name is Jill Holloway and I am excited to announce I am joining the reporting team at the Post-Searchlight. I was born in Albany, Georgia, where I attended Deerfield Windsor School and graduated in 2013. From there, I went to University of Alabama and majored in Journalism with a concentration in print and magazine.
In addition to my passion for writing, I developed a fascination with technology and minored in Computer Applications and programming.
I graduated May 6, with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Information Sciences.
During my time at UA, I joined Gamma Phi Beta sorority and immersed myself into Panhellenic recruitment. I became membership vice president assistant of programming and helped welcome in our largest pledge class of 176 my junior year.
While working with recruitment, I realized I thoroughly enjoyed event planning. Following the end of my junior year, I found an internship that put my love of events and writing together.
I began an internship in Savannah, Georgia at South Magazine where I was an editorial intern. I focused primarily on events that the magazine sponsored and would do daily blogs on them accompanied with photo galleries. My favorite event to set up for was the first Adrian Peterson Foundation silent auction and dinner.
I hope to bring some of what I learned from the historic and creative city of Savannah to Bainbridge. I cannot wait to report on further events and possibly create new events that bring the Bainbridge community and our publication closer together. I’m always open to new ideas and creative outlets to network, so please feel free to reach out if you ever think of something.
I cannot wait to get started and make this place my home.
