Mrs. Melba Helen Duvall Tippett, age 95, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Memorial Manor in Bainbridge, Georgia. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2017, 2 p.m., at Woodlawn Cemetery, in Whigham, Georgia. Mr. Frank Pritchett will officiate. The family will receive friends, Monday evening, 6-8 pm, at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home.

Melba Helen Duvall was born June 11, 1921, in El Paso, Texas, to William Scott Duvall and Minnie Bell Lewis Duvall. She married William “Jack” Tippett, who has preceded her in death. Jack was in the Army, so she and he traveled and lived in many different places. When retirement came, they settled in Whigham, Georgia. Melba was a homemaker. She loved to cook and care for her family and friends. Melba loved to spoil grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards and working on jigsaw puzzles. Mrs. Tippett was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church. Melba Tippett will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Mrs. Tippett is survived by her children, Jeanette Glazier and husband, Bob of Port Richey, Florida and Tina Johnston and husband, Johnny of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Robert Glazier (Kimmie), Allen Glazier, Sean Culverson, and April Culverson McCullough (Greg); great-grandchildren, Shauna Culverson, Spencer Culverson, Ashton Culverson, Jackson McCullough, Amelia McCullough, Melissa Glazier, Nicole Glazier, Allen Glazier, Jr., and Steven Glazier; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Jackie Tippett Culverson; three brothers, and four sisters.
