Marjorie Marie Barrett was born October 30, 1930, in Monticello, the daughter of William Cenith Barrett and Floria Cornelia Anderson Barrett. She was a graduate of Jefferson County High School. Marjorie was married to Clifford Hubert Mills, who preceded her in death. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Many will remember Marjorie from her years of serving at the Memorial Hospital Cafeteria.

Described as a fiesty woman who loved to flirt, “Granny Hubcap” had a need for speed especially if there was a snake involved. She brought laughter to almost any situation and could evoke a smile on the faces of those special grandchildren even in full pout. Marjorie loved to garden and cook. As a homemaker, she taught her children the difference in “keeping house” and “creating a home”.

Survivors include her children, Phillip Jarrell and his wife, Lisa, of Donalsonville, Calvin Jarrell and his wife, Cherie, of Bainbridge, Steven Jarrell and his wife, Nancy, of Hendersonville, NC, Tonya Mills McCurdy and her husband, Mike, of Bainbridge, and Sonya Mills Whitmire, of Cairo; her brother, Alfred Barrett of Tallahassee; her ten grandchildren and her ten great-grandchildren. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford Hubert Mills; and her siblings, Howard, Franklin, Lizzie, Richard, Mary, Myrtle, Louise and JW.
