Rosemary Garrett Chapman was born August 3, 1938, in Chapmanville, West Virginia, the daughter of Carl and Ruby Baisden Garrett. She was a graduate of Chapmanville High School, Chapmanville, W.Va., and proudly served her country in the United States Air Force. Rosemary was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church, Defuniak Springs, and retired as an Administrative Assistant with Fannie Mae.

Rosemary has been described as a very proud and strong woman. She loved her home and being with family, especially her grandchildren. If you knew her, you know that in her spare time she would be cheering on her Atlanta Braves or Falcons and sometimes listening to an old Elvis record. As much as she enjoyed being at home, one knows that she would never shy away from a chance to go shopping.

Survivors include her children, Brian Chapman and his wife Tammy of Defuniak Springs, Pamela J. Kimbrel and her husband John of Brinson, Ga. and Lydiann Kettering of Senoia, Ga.; her sister, Patty Brown and her husband Paul of Homasassa, Fla.; her grandchildren, Jeremy, Andrew, Sonia, and Glen. Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Chapman and her brother, Denver Garrett.
