Oliver Parrish, 75, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 8, 2017, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Hooks officiating. Private interment will be at New Home Free Will Baptist No. 2 Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 p.m. on Monday, May 8, 2017 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com.

Oliver Parrish was born August 28, 1941, in Decatur County, Ga., the son of Maxie Dell Parrish and Ollie Harrell Parrish. He married Dathalean Pollock in 1979. Oliver retired as a welder, mechanic and truck driver. He was a member of New Home Free Will Baptist No.2 Church.

Oliver was a man of many talents. He used his skills to do what he loved most, tinker on cars, play the guitar and even sing a little. He enjoyed watching westerns on television and listening to gospel music. Family was most important to him and he considered his cats his fur babies.

Survivors include his wife, Dathalean Pollock Parrish; his children, Oliver Wyndell Parrish and his wife, Mary Jean, of Thomasville, Ga., Lisa Walters and her husband, Frank, of Mt. Gilead, Ohio, Charlotte Cook and her husband, Hank, of Colquitt, Ga., Susan Etherton and her husband, Jay, of Albany, Ga., Bobby Parrish and his wife, Debbie, Vickie Taylor and her husband, Zack, and Rosa Dale McDonald, all of Bainbridge; his brother, Monroe Parrish of Quincy, Fla.; and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Oliver was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, B.H. Parrish, Kathleen Brock, Voncile Freeman and Leola Avery; and his stepsons, Gary Greene and Phillip Greene.
