Watch history come to life Friday

The City of Bainbridge, along with the Historical Society, is sponsoring a Living History Tour at the Oak City Cemetery this Friday night, April 21, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Seven historical figures of Bainbridge history who are buried at Oak City will be portrayed by local actors.

The persons being honored are: John “Toby” Dowdy, W.M. Coyle, Spencer “Onion” Davis, Tom E. Rich, Luther Bryant, Helen Simpson, Edgar and Irene Priest.

Each actor will be equipped with a microphone as part of the new sound system purchased by the Convention and Visitors Bureau just for the purpose of the history tours.

There will be two riding tours, the first leaving at 5:45 and the second at 6:30. Walking tours begin at 5:30 p.m. and leave every 15 minutes. The last one leaves at 7 p.m.

Parking will be available off the secondary gate on Cemetery Street.
