The Bainbridge Middle School boy’s soccer team wrapped up their season on Wednesday, March 29, with a 9-0 win against Early County.

The win brought the Bearcats to a 5-2 record on the season. The Bearcats split games with Thomas County Central, winning the first game 3-1 and losing the second game 2-1. They also split their games with Cairo, losing the first game 5-0 but winning the second game 4-3.

BMS also beat Thomasville Middle School 1-0, and swept Early County with 10-0 and 9-0 victories.

The Bearcats greatest victory came over Cairo on Monday, March 27, in Cairo. The Bearcats won 4-3 after falling behind twice. Cairo jumped up 1-0, then scored another one after Bainbridge leveled it out to make the score 2-1. Bainbridge then scored two goals and held on for the 4-3 win.

Cairo beat BMS soundly when the game was played here, so the Bearcats trained hard to be sure there was not a repeat when they traveled to Cairo.

Cairo was the most sound team the Bearcats played all year, so the victory over them was especially rewarding after being mauled by them here.
