Cloverleaf Project Achievement District competition held in Houston County

Decatur County 4-H students competed in district competition in Houston County on March 25. They were from Grace Christian Academy, Hutto Middle School and homeschooled students.

The following Grace Christian students all placed first in their categories. Caroline Grubbs in outdoor recreation, Owen Earnest in forest and wood science, Rachel Hayes in sheep and meat goats, and Ella Willamson in dairy and milk science.

Hutto students who placed first were Samantha Floyd in between meal snacks, Jamirica Brown in food fare, Alaina Smith in companion animals, Kinsey Ward in fruits, vegetables and nuts, Alaina Smith in arts, Charmaine Chrispen clothing and textiles, Linda Ambrocio in environmental science and Samaria Bailey in safety. Abram Austinson, who is  home schooled, placed first in poultry and egg science.

In all, there were 24 students who competed, with 20 of them placing. There were 14 first place winners, three 2nd place winners and three third place winners.

Seconds are Ashariah Keaton in between meal snacks, Katie Martin interior design, Allison Oliver, 5th grade sports. Third place winners were Vershartae Akins in food fare, Haydyn Klock, dog care and training, Kareem Baulkman 6th grade sports. Other competitors were Georgia Wise and Kenyon Benton in crafts, Ke’Asia Baulkman in 6th grade sports and Keenan Phillips in 5th grade sports.
