Six teams competed Saturday night at the Rotary Club’s Dancing with the Stars. While all were entertaining, three teams were announced as winners. They were: Darrell Hall and Denease Harrison, who won the People’s Choice award for the advance on-line voting that ended Friday evening at midnight; Jay Palmer and Liz Hill, winners of the most money raised on site; and the Judge’s Pick was the duo of Wayne Lambert and Savannah Miller.
Judges for the event were Michael Inlow, Allison Whitaker and Leigh Mullis Powell, while Brent Loeffler and Marjorie Mayfield emceed the program.
A group of energetic young ladies from Lucretia’s School of Dance performed a lively clogging number during intermission, and also created a cheering section for all the dance teams as they performed.
Official tallies are not complete, but it is believed the event raised over $11,000 for the purchase and installation of a Tele-medicine unit for John Johnson Elementary School.
