Betty Duaine Wade was born August 15, 1928, in Attapulgus, Ga., the daughter of Raymond K. Wade and Leona Gunn Wade. She was a graduate of Attapulgus High School. Betty married Wendell Odell Harrison in 1950, and lived most of her life in North Florida and Southwest Georgia. She worked as a clerk for the Florida Department of Motor Vehicles, Division of Drivers Services, retiring with 27 years of service. Betty was a member of Cairo Church of God.

Betty was a devout Christian who loved her church. She enjoyed listening to Southern gospel music, which often filled her home. Betty has been described as “the greatest cook” by her family. She tended her vegetable garden with the same care she provided to her family. As a steward of all she was given, canning vegetables was a natural hobby.

Survivors include her sons, Harry Harrison and his wife, Linda Crawford Harrison, and Charles Harrison and his wife, Edie Parmer Harrison, all of Whigham; her grandchildren, Travis and Sarah Harrison, Tracy and Carmen Harrison, Todd and Jenny Harrison, Tye and Jillian Boynton, Matthew Harrison and her only granddaughter, Taylor Harrison; her great-grandchildren, Jacob, Isaiah, Ben, Lydia, Joel, Audrey, Ella and Charlie. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wendell O. Harrison; and her siblings, Monroe Wade, Lewis Wade, Lillie Mae Hardy and Trudie Thompson.
