The Lady Cat and Bearcat tennis teams both came home victorious from their Thursday road trip to Dothan.  The Lady Cats defeated the host Dothan High Lady Tigers 7-2 in a match that enabled multiple players to gain valuable experience.

Sydney Burk, Jade Stacey, Bree Powell and Brianna Mills won their singles matches. The Lady Cats also picked up wins in all three doubles matches.

“They looked real good,” coach Amy Thomas said. “Dothan’s team had improved, but our girls were consistent and they did a great job. They got on and off the court.”

The Bearcats rebounded from a loss to Dothan earlier this season to win the match 5-4. The Bearcats won No. 2 and No. 3 doubles and picked up key singles victories from Hudson Barber, Barrett Jackson and Lawson Humphrey.

“It reinforces how much they have changed and how much they are growing as a team,” Thomas said.

The BHS tennis teams will return to Dothan on Tuesday for a match against Northview before a key region match against Warner Robbins on Friday.
