Lucy Mae Moody, 86, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2017, at Recovery United Methodist Church with Pastor Charlie Boyd and Rev. Charles Stephens officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Cemetery with Paul David Johns, Sammy Rudd, David Sellers, Blaine Cort and Joe Scott serving as active pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017. at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com.

Lucy Mae Whiddon was born May 1, 1930, in River Junction, Fla., the daughter of Sank B. Whiddon and Carrie Bell Grimsley Whiddon. She lived most of her life in North Florida and South Georgia. Lucy was a member of Recovery United Methodist Church.

Mae always thought of others. She enjoyed church suppers and participating in the Ladies Lydia Group. She retired from the State of Florida after serving 16 years, with the last several years at Florida State Hospital.

Survivors include her children, Carrie Ann Flynn and her husband, Bill, of Recovery, Peggy Sue Anderson of Havana, and Rex Allen Moody and his wife, Connie, also of Recovery; her sister Peggy Joy Cooper and her husband, Johnny, of Recovery; her grandchildren, Zoe Logan and Shana Dean and her husband, Deano; her great-grandchildren, Nicolas Dean and Sabryna Dean; her nephews, Dennis Cooper and his wife, Monique, and John Cooper; and her niece, Emily Cooper. Mae was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John L. Moody; her son-in-law, Ernie Anderson; her grandson, Brian Allen Moody; and her sister, Betty Sue Whiddon.
