Donald Royce Anderson, 50, crashed his personal plane Thursday evening while flying above his property on Eula Mills Road.

Anderson was found dead at the scene of the crash, Decatur County Sheriff Wiley Griffin said. His plane was found at the end of the landing strip on his property.

Authorities are not certain of the reason for Anderson’s crash.

The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident around 6:45 p.m.
