Cats Sweep Atlanta, dominate in Macon

The Bainbridge Gymnast-a-cats competed in Tucker Georgia at Atlanta School of Gymnastics.
Coach Melynda Murkerson said that the Gymnast-a-cats did “awesome” in every level of the competition. They won first place teams in level one, two and five and 85 individual medals. Murkerson said that Kaitlyn Bennet was outstanding. She scored a 38.00 for the highest score of any gymnast at the meet.
The Bainbridge gymnast-a-cats were also on the prowl in Macon, Georgia, winning a total of 90 medals and three team trophies. Emily Chambers made a clean sweep, winning five first place medals in the Excel platinum division.
Level 1 team has four members: Kara Overman, Rylee Kate Brock, Kaitlyn Bennett and Aubry Phillips. They won first place team level 1 and 20 medals. All four girls are in their first year on the Gymnast-a-cats competition team.
The Level 2 team is Dhara Patel, Anna Claire Mock and Anniston Brown. They won second place team in a tough division of 15 teams from all over the state.
The level 4 team has 8 members: Lauren Godwin, Emma Foster, Aurie Barbree, Maloree Inlow, Bansi Patel, Bailey Nunnery, Ashna Vickers and Maggie Palmer. These eight girls did an amazing job in their Macon meet according to Murkerson. They won 45 medals and third place team. The Gymnast-a-cats were the only first year level four team. The other teams were seasoned third year level 4 gymnast. This this showed just how much talent these 9 gymnast have said coach Murkerson. The Bainbridge Gymnast-a-cats are coached by Melynda Murkerson, Leslie Godwin, Gabby Hardee and Nancy Moge.
