OneSource Healthcare offers one stop medical care

Where can a person turn when they are new to town, become ill and do not have a personal physician? Or, a person has a physician, but it is the weekend and they cannot get in touch with their doctor. They don’t want to go to the Emergency Room at the hospital, but they do need to seek medical care and they wonder where they can turn.
Now, as of February 1, they can turn to OneSource Healthcare, a multidisciplinary medical practice that has joined forces with Tuten Chiropractic at 406 S. West Street.
The new collaborative practice offers urgent, walk-in medical care without an appointment, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is staffed by two local nurse practitioners.
April Heard NP is a full-time employee, while Beth Hollis, a full-time NP at Amelia Medical, is a part-time employee. Joining them to provide internal medicine needs is Jorge Pisarello, M.D.
Dr. Chad Tuten has been serving the Bainbridge community with chiropractic services since 1999, when he joined the practice with his father, Dr. Gene Tuten. He took over the practice in 2005, in preparation of his father’s retirement.
He says the new integrated medicine practice addresses a need in Bainbridge as there is no urgent care available in the area. It also serves as a follow-up on the muscular-skeletal side.
For example, he cites a patient who comes in with a pinched sciatic nerve and has a great deal of pain. The patient can get X-rays to determine the problem, start chiropractic care and see the nurse practitioner for prescriptions of steroids and/or pain medications—all in one place.
One Source Healthcare opened in Albany three years ago, offering all the same services, and has been very successful, according to Dr. Tuten, who is now a part owner at both locations.
The medical treatment area is located in the same building as the chiropractic practice, but has its own separate wing with a waiting room, treatment rooms, laboratory and triage area.
Whether patients have an urgent medical need that requires convenient walk-in service, they’re looking for a new primary care medical doctor to provide essential, routine health management services for the whole family, or they are seeking the chiropractic care they have come to trust, OneSource provides it all in one location.
There will be an open house and ribbon cutting on Monday, February 13, where the public can meet the staff, tour the facilities and enjoy refreshments.
